Ugbrooke Country Estate is your timeless sanctuary from a busy world. 

The emphasis is on informality, relaxation and warm hospitality. A unique home away from home.  The hosts also have 2 friendly dogs and 2 cats in residence.

We regret that children under 12 years of age cannot be accommodated at Ugbrooke during high season ( November to April inclusive.)

The Bedrooms:

From five boutique bedrooms you have a choice of three - each named to reflect the rich history of the house. Indvidually decorated in soothing tones and comfortable luxury, you’ll feel the rush melt away as you take in Ugbrooke''s aged grace and unique setting.

Choose from three Heritage and two Classic Suites that echo the elegance of times past and offer the comforts of the modern world:

All rooms are based on double occupancy (King, Queen or Super King bed).

The Clifford (Heritage) and Awatere (Classic) have Super King beds can be split into twin beds if required.

All rooms have ensuite, modern heating and small bar fridge.

Heritage Rooms

- Vavasour Room- originally the Smoking Room for the gentlemen and named after the family that lived at Ugbrooke for three generations.  This room overlooks the eastern lawn across the vineyards to the Cook Strait and has an aura of calmness and tranquility. A special feature is the romantic draped Half Tester King bed and huge fireplace surround.
- Clifford Room-  a large elegant bedroom with modern Super King bed and french doors. The room opens on to the verandah that overlooks the lawn to the vineyards and Cook Strait. Again, a beautifully carved fireplace is a feature along with the original ceiling light shades.
Chevalier Room - The name derives from the award winning barley that Henry Vavasour developed at Ugbrooke and which gained recognition in Europe in 1908. This richly furnished, romantic room has a warm french theme and features a Queen Half Tester bed with tapestry drapes. It is inward facing to the central courtyard.

Classic Rooms

- Awatere Room- Decorated in vibrant colours with Super King Bed, this inviting room boasts as its ensuite, the huge original bathroom with claw foot bath, antique shower head and pressed zinc ceilings and walls.
Devon Room - this is a smaller  room  with Queen Bed that offers a warm saffron ambience. It has modern décor and is privately situated toward back of the house.
